First The Watergate, then the World

A performance on the rooftop of one of Abu Dhabi’s finest hotels, a massive tour of Germany, a stint in Las Vegas followed by a huge tour of Denmark and Holland lay in store for Ireland’s finest balladeers, The Kilkennys. It’s all happening and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the band that penned the song that quickly became the unofficial theme tune for the year of The Gathering.

From humble beginnings around a table in the Cave Bar, The Kilkennys have become a household name and an online sensation with well over 5 million YouTube hits, one of the largest FaceBook pages in the country and an army of loyal followers all over the world. Their latest release, The Gathering, was number two in the iTunes charts after just one day and even made it into the Australian charts.

The future is looking like one big adventure for Davey Cashin, Robbie Campion, Tommy Mackey and Davey Long, as they are currently writing and recording original material for their forthcoming album. But before they get to that, they are planning on taking their music all over the world, starting with Dubai in the coming weeks and taking in countries right across Europe and a little detour to Las Vegas in June.

Coming from Kilkenny is something this band are very proud of, just look at the name. The band want their supporters in their home city to be the first to see the brand new show that they will take around the world, so it is only fitting that the first stop of their tour will be The Watergate Theatre, Kilkenny.

They recorded their live album and DVD ‘Meet The Kilkennys’ at the Watergate and the band have staged several sold-out concerts at the Parliament Street venue. This show is also expected to sell out so get your tickets early by calling the Box Office on (056) 77 61674.

The show takes place on Saturday April 27th at 8pm and will feature a line up of special guests. It Promises to be an entertaining evening that you won’t forget.
